We went kayaking in a volcanic lake - Tarawera Falls and Lake Tarawera

We drove through lots of forest to get to the lake (like, LOTS of forest. Miles and miles) and A MAN FLAGGED US DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST. He said he’d been out possum hunting all night and his car battery had died or something. We didn’t have any tools or cable thingies anyway so we couldn’t help him but he was Freaky. As. Hell. He had long grey lank hair and looked really upset and sad. It was really unnerving. We ended up stopping the next truck we passed, which was a guy hunting with his son, and told him and asked if they’d be able to help him and they said okay. They had guns, I’m sure they could defend themselves. But now we all keep running through all the possibilities of who he was and why he was there! If he was being honest then we basically left a man alone in a forest miles from anywhere, and sent men with guns and hunting dogs after him :o/ There’ve been no news reports about anybody being murdered/missing so am sure it all turned out swimmingly.
