The Plan.

Life has a habit of making a mockery of your best laid plans. I was going back to Japan to teach for a year or two, my lovely girlfriend was probably going to wind up in an amazing university here in England doing a masters on her way to becoming a political firebrand. Instead - we met, we fell in love and now we’re about to embark on a journey to the other end of the world together. We’re leaving behind our adopted home city of Liverpool, and travelling to New Zealand, where my parents live, and where we hope we’re going to spend some time having one big, wonderful adventure.

We’re both well aware of the sheer insanity of our boarding a plane - and travelling as far as we can go without starting to get closer to home - having been together for just a few months and I’m sure that our friends and families think we’re insane, and wreckless, but I know - we know - that the right thing for us is to be together, and opportunities such as this one will present themselves all too infrequently in our all too-short lives. So here is to making the most of our mid-twenties, and to adventures, and plans, and romance.
